My name is Nancy LoPresti and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have a Bachelors and Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University. I was originally a Civil Engineering major, a huge math nerd, and life happened which directed me towards my true passion of therapy. I have amazing people in my life and the most playful dog. I have lived in Arizona since I was 9 years old and absolutely love it. Why the name SunCatcher Therapy? A suncatcher or light catcher is a small reflective, refractive, and/or iridescent ornament that captures light and energy. Metaphorically, I believe that we are all suncatchers, sometimes that energy is trapped, we don't feel light, we feel like we are radiating darkness or something unattractive and I want to help others see, that even when we are at our worst, there is still meaning/purpose.
Therapy is an internal journey of the self and if ready to go to that place, it can lead to a more balanced and peaceful lifestyle. I am a trauma-informed therapist which translates to ‘we go, where you want us to go.’ My style of therapy is relaxed and eclectic. I strongly believe that in order to heal, we must incorporate the mind, body and spirit.
I specialize in working with adults that are experiencing various challenges such as depression, anxiety, sudden life transitions, self-esteem, trauma, sexual abuse, violent crime survivors, stress, and relationship issues. It is an honor to be able to hold a safe space for my clients to share what is happening in their lives. My role as your therapist is to guide and support you in unlearning negative thinking patterns in order to live a fulfilling life, to empower you to accept yourself, and enable you to experience love and inner peace.
